WHAT'S IN MY MOBILE MAKEUP BAG (MMB)

Hey Guys,

Super-quick post to share the contents of my MMB. The last time I did a post like this was 3years ago, how insane is that! The pictures are so shoddy, it's a miracle I still had people reading my posts at the time. If you have been a reader that long and you're still here, can I just say THANK YOU! You the real MVP! lol. You can view that post here.

I posted the picture below on my instagram page (@BeautyInLagos) on a whim yesterday, and a follower suggested I do a post on the blog as well. I'm just going to list the products, if you've got any questions about them leave me a comment and I will respond.

  2. Hello, I wanna ask about the powder. Rimmel stay matte. How good is it? does It keep the oil sheen away and how long. I have oily skin and a good powder dat stays matte is what I need. Thanks.

    1. Hi Kokogurlie! The Rimmel powder isn't really anything fantastic, which is why I relegated it to being my blot powder. In terms of keeping the shine away, no powder can completely erase that. The thing to do is address the base i.e. what primer you are using. Once you get the base right, then you can start looking for a decent powder to compliment it. Inglot's primer is not bad, I have a post about it, just search 'inglot' in the search bar, top right x

    1. Hi Gerry, it basically a little bottle that I transfer some of my perfume into and carry it around for when I need a top-up!

  4. Gosh, almost 3 years! Time does indeed fly. I remember asking where you got your makeup bag and makeup tips for a beginner. Yes, all that time has passed and I am still a beginner *covers face in shame*.

I wondered why you hadn't written a post on makeup tips and just realised that you had an additional comment that I failed to answer. I have just read that comment so apologies. The tips I'm interested in are more like what brushes to use, eye pencils/ mascara to use, how to apply, how to be certain of your shade when selecting foundation/concealer (In my experience, the assistants always select the wrong shade) and other things you deem necessary.

Also, could you offer any tips on how to get rid of hyperpigmentation? I have dark marks from past acne scarring. It would be preferable if you could suggest something that will not alter my skin tone as the bleaching look is not one I find at all appealing. I am aware that some freaks out there have differing opinions on this matter but I do not echo their views. I know about skin peels but I wonder if there is an alternate and less abrasive way to eradicating the marks.

Finally, as a a reward for your MVP, will you do more outfit of the day posts without hiding your cute face and detail where your accessories are from?

A rather long winded post but in my defence, I haven't commented in a few years so I think I get a pass.

    Many thanks

    1. Haha!! Hello MVP :D. I am in the process of rolling out posts on some of the tips you mentioned. I am starting off with brushes and working my way along. So such posts will be coming.
Skincare is VERY tricky ground that I choose not to tread at the moment, because I am not an expert. And I don't think I could forgive myself if a product I recommended completely 'destroyed' someone's face lol. I MAY share my skincare routine and products someday on the blog. I recommend you visit a reputable dermatologist for your hyperpigmentation, searching the internet for answers can be overwhelming with all the varying suggestions, so seek expert advice, I say.

And your last request, dunno, not very comfortable doing style posts at the moment, but.... never say never!

Thanks so much for commenting and reading my blog all these years, means a lot :) x
