Hey there People-weople! :)

Hope everyone's had a good week so far. I am quite excited to type up this post as I think most of you will enjoy it.

Now, I had been sharing my Manicures via my Instagram page (@BeautyInLagos) way before I decided to bring them to the blog and as much as everyone liked the manicures, I got an equal amount of questions concerning the rings I wore on my fingers, particularly my dainty knuckle rings. I didn't get by rings in Lagos and every time I replied with the source I felt like I wasn't helping.

When it comes to my daily accessories, be it bracelets, necklaces or rings I tend to gravitate towards the dainty, 'barely-there' variety. But at night or to parties and stuff I like the chunky, embellished, slightly-garish sort lol. Anyways, imagine my excitement when I discovered DéColleté Fashion Lounge and their amazing accessories. So many dainty accessories, all right up my street.

DéColleté Fashion Lounge has been doing pop up shops since 2009 in Lagos. They have really fun and unique clothes, jewelry and accessories collections that have been specially curated from around the world. They focus on quality and making their customers happy. 

So I had a little browse through their catalogue and had to literally talk myself out of getting 90% of their stock.

Don't mean to harp on about this all the time on my blog, but LOOK at that presentation! Honestly, just for accessories??!?! I LOVE IT! You get delicate little boxes to store your accessories in, so they don't tarnish quickly. DéColleté also provides a little card with specific details on how to preserve your accessories so they last you a very long time.

I just love love love how tiny and dainty these rings are, particularly the three on my pinky, ring and index fingers. These three came in a set and I have provided the prices above. I'd been seeing the Necklace version of the Bracelet above, all over the blogs and instagram. I think they are replicas of the Versace one, made popular when Rihanna rocked it a few months back. I didn't really like the necklace, but when I saw this in the DéColleté catalogue I thought 'ooooh, I quite like this bracelet version', and I love it! Very lightweight and perfect to add to my 'Night-time/Party' stack of bracelets :)

In Love!! This hand-chain is what I call 'Dainty-Perfection'. I cannot get enough of it. I even got it in the gold finish too! :). It comes in 3 finishes: Gold, Silver and GunMetal.

I love my gold accessories, but I do like to throw in some silver at times. And I got the little silver knuckle ring as well to go with my silver hand-chain and my other silver accessories.

Lagos Makeup Fair - The Pictures

So over the weekend I attended the first ever Lagos Makeup Fair. I had NO idea what to expect, but the word 'Makeup' in the title got me! I heard about it on twitter (gotta love social media) and just asked for more info. So saturday came around dragged my makeup-obssessed-now-turned-skincare-obssessed friend Tallulah and my girl Mo' and we headed down to Ikeja for the event.

It was Makeup Heaven, there were a lot of vendors, I think I got there a little late. The event was scheduled for 10am-7pm, I strolled in at 5pm x_x (In my defense it was a HOT saturday, and we didn't really fancy walking around dripping in sweat, and we guessed it was gonna be in a marquee of some sort, so we waited till the sun had gone down a bit).

But there were still a lot of Vendors and Merchants there. Makeup Brands: Sleek, Sacred, BarryM and NYX. I did a little scream when I saw the NYX stand, unreal! Then there were a host of vendors selling limited selections from popular brands like MAC, Fashion Fair, Mary Kay, E.L.F, Iman, Inglot etc.

I did get a few things from the fair (haul post up later this week), but here are pictures I took of a few stands at the fair. Enjoy!

OMG!! A  NYX stand! Like everything on it was NYX. So unreal! I loved it. Didn't know where to start. I was so overwhelmed, that I was confused on what to get. So just ended up getting a couple things, don't you HATE when that happens.

More NYX. And the picture below as well. They had quite good selection.

Nail Polish, Eyeshadows, Lipsticks and Glosses. Powder, Foundation etc.

BarryM!! Great selection as well. Got some items from them too!

 So that's how it all went down (for me anyway), there were so many colors everywhere it was unreal. Like the nail polish and eyeshadows at every stand! It was so awesome! Loved that such an event took place in Lagos and I'm glad I could make it.

I wasn't really impressed by the Sleek stand, mostly because I was after two items and they didn't have them (don't think they're available in Nigeria yet). Their Sleek 'Blush By Three' palette and the Sleek 'Shimmer Brick'. I have got a 'Blush By Three' palette, but I didn't get it here. L'Espace by LPM

As I type up this post all that's going through my head is the question 'Why am I only JUST writing this post'. In my defence I think my subconscious sort of concluded that EVERYONE knows about L'Espace. But that's not right because honestly, my blog is about informing you guys and not assuming you all already know about a place. Anyways, preamble done.... Say hello to L'Espace!

Now for me to introduce you all to L'Espace, I need to talk about  Le Petit Marche (LPM). LPM is a little sunday market held on the last Sunday of every month at a chosen venue in Lagos. I remember when I moved back, LPM was in its conception stage and that was the first 'Lagos event' I attended . And I remember kicking myself in the butt thinking, why didn't I think of doing this. LPM brings together a whole host of independent (and even some established) vendors under one roof to create a buzzing shopping atmosphere. Items sold range from Clothes, to Makeup, Sweets/Candy, Shoes, Accessories, Vintage Items, Hair Extensions, Hair/Skin Care... list is endless. Like, the traffic to the venue on Sundays is ridiculous!

Soooo, back to L'Espace. A couple years down the line from LPM, L'Espace was 'born'. And as you would imagine L'Espace is basically a selection of the vendors from the monthly LPM event, but this time you get to walk into a 'mortar and brick' store and shop what you want - whenever you want. This means you are no longer limited to just a single Sunday every month to indulge your addiction. I popped into the store last week and took a few pictures of some of the items in there. As you already know a few things I've spoken about on here are housed at L'Espace, for example the Wow! Nails concession and Sweet Kiwie Fro-yo. So here's some more stuff at L'Espace. Enjoy!

False Lashes.

Anyone looking for those home fragrance oils that you heat up, they've got them at L'Espace. They've also got the burners as you can see in the picture above (top right)

I have no idea who all the vendors are in the store, quite honestly I don't think it matters that much. If I see something I like, I buy, who the vendor/designer is means nothing to me.

I just thought to make this post a little picture heavy, because pictures tell the story far better than words in this case. But I also wanted to show you guys a couple things that specifically caught my eye in the store:

Ahh! I bring to you the 'Obsidian' section at L'Espace. I am OBSSESSED with these bags. They are absolutely gorgeous. The gold hardware and detailing of these bags are just so lush, I can't even describe it. The come in different finishes, I feel there's one for everyone!

I specifically have my beady eyes on this PINK (of course) one! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

More finishes of the same bag. Don't know what this bag is called, but it's by the designer 'Obsidian' and they are quite pricey, so I am saving up my pretty little pennies for this.

These notebook and iPad cases also caught my eye. The fabric used on these cases are also interesting, some may say they are just standard ankara fabric wrapped cases, but to me they are unique.

Vanity Oils

My lovely mother gave me a large tub of unrefined Sheabutter mid last year and I've still got it. Not used it much because it's the solid form, you know the one you need to rub between your palms to heat it up and therefore melt it a little so it's easy to apply like your regular body lotion. Yeah, that one. So I don't use it as regularly as I'd like to, because of the stress of warming it up and all that. So someone mentioned to me that a little bit of coconut oil mixed in would do the trick and make it easier to work with.

I thought to buy some off-the-shelf coconut oil, but no one knew where I could get that. So I thought I needed some 100% natural oil-vendor or something, much easier than checking the shops right?...lol. I was randomly going through my sister's followers on twitter (don't ask why, I have a legitimate reason) and I came across the account 'Vanity Oils'. I thought "interesting name, what do they do? Are they in lagos"... They were and they were EXACTLY what I was looking for!

I immediately followed them on twitter and sent them a tweet saying I wanted to order some oils. They asked for my email address, sent that over and they replied the email with their catalogue.

These are the items I ordered. I must say their catalogue is HIGHLY informative (so is their website). Like, I learnt SO MUCH about the different oils available and their numerous uses and benefits. There are two types of oils Essential Oils (active ingredients) and Carrier Oils (base oils used to dilute essential oils). After reading through all the different oils they had available I obviously became confused about what to pick.

I initially wanted just the coconut oil, but after looking through their catalogue I got this as well. (must be the ObJ MINTY Shea Hair-butter :s).

The cover of the little bottle doubles up as a dropper. As this is an essential oil I only need about 1-2drops mixed in with my shampoo, conditioner, hair cream or whatever I want to add it to. I love when a vendor puts a lot of thought into their presentation. Love!

Also the benefits and uses of this oil are right up my street.

Look at how much coconut oil is in that bottle! I'm sure I can find a lot more uses for it other than just to mix into my sheabutter.

They also sent me over this little tub of Sheabutter! I was pleasantly surprised, thank you Vanity Oils. Don't know if this is like their standard gift to customers, or if it's because I mentioned in my email to them the reason why I wanted coconut oil was to mix in with my sheabutter to get a cream-like texture. Either way this gift was perfect! The texture of this Sheabutter is exactly what I want to achieve with mine once the coconut oil is mixed in.

I'm going to add a drop of peppermint oil in with my coconut oil and unrefined sheabutter. Is this a good idea?

TOSÉKI VINTAGE - Outfit Of The Day (OOTD)

So, fairly recently I discovered another Vintage blog-store in Lagos. They are called Toséki Vintage. They don't hold monthly blog sales like Elsie Vintage, they just upload items whenever they've got stock available.

They followed my twitter account one day and I got the notification "Toséki Vintage is now following you on twitter.." and I thought "ooooh, interesting!" Browsed through their past posts and saw that they still had quite a few items available.

I was excited when I saw this item. It's similar to the piece I got from Elsie Vintage, i.e. high-waist flared shorts that look like a skirt. I wore it the other day and thought I'd show you guys.

I love them, nice and comfy.

I ordered at the start of the week and it was delivered within 3days I think, didn't have to wait a long time. I must say I am really loving these vintage vendors in Lagos!

Price: N3000. Delivery costs N500. So my bill was N3500.

ESSIE NAIL POLISH - Ebeano Supermarket

So we are back to Ebeano's beauty section. This time I'm letting you know about their little collection of Essie Nailpolish. It's located on the same stand as all the Orly stuff. It's a fairly new addition, because all they had initially on the stands were Orly polishes.

Now one weird thing I've noticed is that all the other beauty bloggers I follow, majority from the UK and a few Stateside, always mention the name of their Essie's. The ones I've got have no name as you can see from the pictures above. Anyone know why this is the case?



PRICING
At Ebeano they retail for N800. Now my research revealed that in the UK these go for about £9.50 and the ladies across the pond purchase for $8.00. Not a bad deal!

SLEEK MAKEUP

So today I'm posting about one of my favourite 'drug store' brands... Sleek Makeup. Quite a few ladies in Lagos have got this mentality where it's MAC/IMAN or nothing else. Ladies there are A LOT of other amazing affordable and high-end brands out there. It's up to you to explore them. Mac and Iman are sold in Lagos, but that's for another post, today is all about SLEEK MAKEUP.

There are a number of Sleek Makeup distributors scattered around Lagos, from the Mainland to the Island. On the Island (which is where I live) I know of 3stores, one in Ikoyi, the head office in V/I and another in Ikota (VGC). If you live on the island and are after some Sleek Makeup, I suggest you head to the Ikoyi store, which is the one I go to (Address, as always, at the end of this post). They do sell makeup in the V/I store, but I noticed they've got a larger selection of their Sleek Hair Extensions/Weaves, than makeup.

I love the way the interior of the store is done up!

This past weekend I 'dragged' a couple of my girls with me to the store and they ALL bought something! ^_^.

They have a pretty good stock of merchandise in there (most of their stuff are in cupboards underneath the display). Although, they don't get the new releases as soon as they are out in the UK. I remember when I was after their Primer Palette it wasn't in the store until a few weeks after it was released.

They also have an area where you can test out the products or find your colour match to their variety of foundations and powders

Here's what I bought from the store.

Been after the 'Oh So Special' Eyeshadow Palette, they've had it in the store for ages, but after purchasing the Urban Decay 'Naked' palette I forgot about it.... But now I've got it :). If you like Nude Colours, this is the palette for you,

I got this gorgeous purple lipstick called Amethyst. Plan on wearing it at my birthday dinner next weekend! They applied the colour to my lips and it's an amazing shade. My girl, Shamzz, even had to get one after she saw it on me!

Here's all the Sleek Makeup I've got so far. I LOVE their eyeshadow palettes (as you can see..lol), the colours are so pigmented and last a long time. I've got the 'Original' 'Storm' 'Oh So Special' and 'Primer' Palettes. If you have got oily lids I suggest you use a primer. Their primer palette is quite good ;).

I've also got their New Skin Revive Founation. Seen a lot of positive reviews of this. Even Shirley's got it listed as one of her favourite liquid foundations. Haven't actually got round to using this yet, would let you know how I get on in another post.
