Hello Hello!
Hope you all had a good week! Either way, be happy you survived! lol :D
So the last time I blogged about threading was 2 years ago, you can read that here. And to be honest I haven't updated with anymore new places to thread in Lagos because I just had not discovered any that matched up to that... not until NOW!
I can't remember the first time I found out Stella threaded brows, but I just made a mental note to visit her the next time I was due one. It's good to have options I tell you, because what happens when your 'regular' is out of town???
So yesterday I finally went down to the Stella's Addiction Studio in Lekki Phase 1 (address in this post). I was a little apprehensive, because I felt I had found somewhere good enough, why change? I mean your brows essentially frame your face and botched-up brows can be very traumatising... and no, I not in the least being dramatic. But like I said above, it's good to have options, so off I went!
How did my brows turn out? Have a look below:
I am so so so pleased with the results!! These are my brows with absolutely nothing in them, no pencil, shadow I don't even have any eyebrow gel! Just brushed through with a brow brush. They are a lot thinner than I have ever had them, but Stella is so meticulous and she wanted my brows to be as identical as possible and she did an AWESOME job levelling them out!
I always have to fill-in my brows slightly just to cover a few gaps and extend the tail, but as you can see she threaded them so well, I hardly need to fill.
I highly recommend Stella, guys! And she also talks you through what she's doing, so if you don't want what she recommends, then you can state your preference. Nothing like a beauty-expert that actually LISTENS, and not just talks AT you because they 'know what you want'... *pet peeve*!

I recommend threading your brows over a razor. With a razor, along with cutting the hair off as close to the root as possible, you are also scrapping off a layer of your skin in the process. Albeit a teeny-tiny layer of skin (which is why you don't feel any pain), over time it will become evident when the hair stops growing and the area becomes shiny. Also with threading, the results last a lot longer.
But tell me anyway...
Laters,

What's your preferred brow-grooming method and why?
Laters,

how did you get your brows to brow so full???
ReplyDeleteMy regular method is shaving with razor....
beautiful-eagle.blogspot.com
You think they are full? Why, thank you! I actually don't do anything to them, apart from threading. xx
DeleteI prefer threading o. Takes a whole lot of time for the hair to grow out. I threaded once in dubai and for almost a month I didn't have to worry about my eyebrows. Wish Stellas Addiction was in PH
ReplyDeleteThreading FTW!!
DeleteI have very problematic and scanty eyebrows which never seem to look alike when shaves with razor or when drawn!. Would u recommend threading?!
ReplyDeleteThe advice I always hear the experts give, is to allow your brows grow out a little longer, before you groom them (thread, tweeze or razor). So you will have your brows looking crazy for a while and castor oil also helps them grow. xx
DeleteThreading (with tweezing in between threading appointments). I used to go to ShoMya to thread my eye brows because she's extremely careful and very good (and cheaper, I might add), but lately she hasn't been at the salon during my normal appointment times and I've been at a loss. I think I'll try Stella out when my eye brows have grown in a little bit - I feel like they're a little thin right now.

Love that you tweeze yourself in between. I have tried tweezing my brows between appointments, I just can't hack it! Too chicken.. I actually use a numbing gel, which works, but just the feeling of me yanking my hair out myself makes me queasy lol
DeleteGrowing out my brows will definitely try her. Your brows look good. Xx

Thank you bebe!! :D
DeleteWoop!!! Thanks so much for the review hun. Please change the price to N2000 ;-)
ReplyDeleteOMG!! Jiiinxxx! Literally just pulled the receipt out of my bag and saw that it was N2,000 and updated the post! Haha! xx
DeleteYour brows looks grt!
ReplyDeleteNever tried threading. Started 'shaping' my brows myself since I was 13. Unfortunately, I'm not that amenable to change.
But wud file this 'threading' under my things to try file. Lol
Your brows are beautiful. I'm chucking my razor and getting ready for crazy brows for a while.
ReplyDeleteI used tweezers for a couple of years until mom said repeated plucking would kill the follicles and I wouldn't be able to grow them back (is this true? Cos threading follows the same principle)
From what you said, blades will cause scarring and have the same effect so now I don't even know. What do you think?
2,000 just to thread? I thread mine for only £3. Exploitation of life.
ReplyDeleteLol at exploitation of life. My dear, welcome to Nigeria where looking good doesn't come cheap.
ReplyDeleteI've threaded my brows just once and I didn't like the result. Maybe it was the artist though but now I tweeze my brows myself and I'm satisfied with it. Your brows look great btw.

Threading gave my sister a lot of bumps in her brows. I guess those with sensitive skin should stay clear. She is back to razor blades.
ReplyDeleteYour brows looks amazing i must say.

Hi, I have been looking for where to thread in Lagos for a while now. Although I'm happy to have found your blog I live on the mainland. Does she have somewhere there so it's less of a hassle for me
ReplyDeleteHi, I live on the mainland, does she have a place here or is there someone here you can recommend
ReplyDeleteI so wish I can get someone on the mainland but for this am willing to go to the island. Stella's addiction, here I come
