Hiya!
This past weekend, I was invited down to the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Lagos by a company called Godrej Nigeria Limited (GNL). What I learnt from the session was that we actually have an official distributor of Bio-Oil in Nigeria! Yup, you read that right. I had absolutely NO idea! Infact not only are they an official distributor, they are the ONLY official distributors in Nigeria, and have been since 2012. GNL do not sell Bio-Oil directly to customers, they sell through re-distributors and I have got a list of them at the end of this post.
I had used bio-oil in the past, just because I'd heard a couple people rave about the stuff, but at the time I was clueless about studying ingredients and looking out for what various lotions and potions contained. What I learned from the short session with Godrej this past weekend, has reignited my interest in the product and infact the little bottle we got in our giftbags has now got a spot on my vanity.
Bio-Oil's key ingredients include Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Calendula Oil, Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil, Chamomile Oil and Purcellin Oil. Now most of the ingredients I bet we are all familiar with, what I was most curious about was the Purcellin Oil. Purcelin Oil is added in to reduce the thickness of the formulation making it readily absorbed by the skin. It also acts as an emolient, making the skin soft, smooth and supple.

This post isn't primarily about the benefits of Bio-Oil (there's always google for that), it's more so to address the concern I learnt from a few other ladies present at the event, and also my instagram followers after I posted a picture sharing that I was at the event. The general consensus was that there is a LOT of fake Bio-Oil in the Nigerian Market today and I just want to share the following list of credible outlets that Godrej Nigeria Limited supply. This is not an extensive list, but these are their major outlets.
So you can hit up the above listed stores to get your genuine Bio-Oil. Fake products for some reason have just flooded the market out here, I mean they have been around for a long time, but there seems to be a recent surge, and one needs to be very careful when purchasing products. This post isn't sponsored in any way, just wanted to do my part and share this information with you guys, hopefully I've saved at least one person from the gruesome claws of fake products. I will post a little pictorial on my Instagram (@beautyinlagos) on the details to look out for to spot a genuine bottle of Bio-Oil, so make sure you're following.
Thanks Chinyere and the Godrej Nigeria Limited team for the invite and a lovely afternoon :)

Thanks for sharing this, this really helps to protect the users and of course the brand Bio-Oil. Will you keep the list updated, or does the company keep an updated list on their website?
ReplyDeleteI just talked about this oil with my friend today. My problem is with how to use it. Am i to use it alone like a body oil or mix it with my body lotion? Please help me. What is the best way to use it? Thank you.
