Yeah, so I've been on a little hiatus the past few weeks, don't know why... But I think this has given me the kick up the backside that I needed. When I received this email I was so excited! For two reasons, Firstly because it is SLEEK MAKEUP!! And I'm sure all you guys know how much I love Sleek. Their eyeshadow palettes are my favorite, so pigmented and stay on all day! Secondly, because you guys FINALLY get something back for reading my blog. So Sleek Nigeria's looking for the top five beauty blogs in Nigeria. I have to say this is all very interesting!! I have been reading beauty blogs (mostly UK blogs) for over 2yrs now and i love the engagement beauty brands have with these bloggers. They get the bloggers so involved in their products and new releases and I am pleased this is starting to happen over here!

HOUSE OF TARA at ARISE MAGAZINE FASHION WEEK

So this is some interesting news... House of Tara, one of our very own indigenous Makeup Brands will be the official makeup company at this year's Arise Magazine Fashion Week (AMFW). In case you've been living under a rock, the event kicks off next week Tuesday, 6th of March and runs for 7days.

When my friend told me about this, first thing that went through my head was 'ooooooh interesting'... because I've been meaning to try out some stuff from this brand. Can't wait to see the looks they churn out for the runway!

The organizers of the 2012 Arise Magazine Fashion Week are proud to announce an exclusive partnership with leading Nigerian make-up company, House of Tara. Under the terms of this partnership, House of Tara will act as official make-up company for the 2012 Arise Fashion Week, designing, coordinating and styling make-up looks for the entire runway event. House of Tara Director, Tara Fela-Durotoye confirmed the news and assured would-be guests at the Fashion Week of a spectacular feast for the eyes. “At any fashion show or runway event, the job of the make-up artist is to enhance and amplify the designer’s creations, and to give the audience a fashion-forward, visually titillating experience. At House of Tara, we know all about the art of make-up, but we are also experts at creating an experience using our palettes and brushes. Our work is memorable for all the right reasons,” she added.

House of Tara was also the official make-up company to the MTN Lagos Fashion & Design Week which took place in October 2011.  Their stunning runway looks and professional demeanour endeared them to the organizers, designers and models alike, engendering a buzz that has remained to date. The Arise Magazine Fashion Week, which is scheduled to run from March 6^th to March 11^th 2012, will no doubt boost House of Tara’s reputation as Nigeria’s preferred make-up company.

This really is good news! I love it when we recognize our own.
