SWATCHES OF NEW M.A.C LIPTENSITY COLLECTION

A recently launched new range of lipsticks have just hit the MAC stores here in Nigeria... The M.A.C. Liptensity Collection. M.A.C. really went 'there' with the lipstick shades in this collection and they are super-duper pigmented. With lip products, darker shades a usually a little hard to apply evenly, but the navy blue and black lipsticks in this collection haven't got that problem.
Have a look at the swatches below.

Liptensity 'Burnt Violet'

Liptensity 'Blue Beat'

MAC COSMETICS NIGERIA | MY 'MAC MAKEOVER' EXPERIENCE

MAC counters in Nigeria now offer makeover and lesson services! If you follow me on Instagram (@BeautyInLagos), I'm sure this won't be news to you because I shared this on there last week and also gave a heads-up that I will be snapchatting whilst in-store. I'm sure quite a few people already assumed these services had always been available, because they are offered at pretty much every MAC counter worldwide, but we actually didn't have this here, until recently. I was really happy about this, perhaps next up will be to introduce the 'Back2MAC' service *hint hint MAC Nigeria*.

Anyways, yesterday afternoon I went down to the MAC store at the Palms Mall, to experience and get some information about their  makeover and training services. You can pre-book an appointment or walk-in, subject to availability. The fee charged for your makeover or lesson is fully redeemable against M.A.C products purchased at the appointment. Basically, you're getting a free makeover and purchasing makeup. For example, if you booked a makeover service which costs N15,000, you are entitled to N15,000 worth of MAC products! I shared my experience over on snapchat yesterday (Username: BeautyInLagos), but I have shared a few pictures below and at the end of the post are the prices and services provided here in Nigeria. MAC 'WASH & DRY' COLLECTION AVAILABLE IN NIGERIA | HAUL

Hi Everyone,

MAC release quite a few collections every year, I'm talking like well over 10 or something. 'Wash & Dry' is one of such collections released this year, and is inspired by bright and fresh hues which are very evident in the products, as well as the packaging.

One thing I love about MAC and their collections is the limited edition packaging! They veer away from their usual black coloured packaging, which makes the limited edition stuff something of a 'collector's item'. I know people who get collection releases just for the packaging...

Wash & Dry Collection comprises of products for eyes, lips and face. I'm talking, Lipsticks, Lipglasses, TechnaKohl liners, Waterproof False Lashes, Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow Trios, and lots more. I got 2 items in the collection, as well as 2 other products; 1 from their permanent line and the other from a previous collection. Sharing them all today, incase one of guys was thinking of picking up something from MAC here in Nigeria and didn't know what to get. You can call me your 'enabler' haha!

MAC Highlight Powder 'Freshen Up' - N6,500*

This seemed to be the 'star' product from the collection. I got these products a week ago and shared them on my instagram page and got the same reaction as well! By the way, if you are on instagram you should be following me, I share a lot of stuff on instagram first before it even hits the blog. It's just easier to share a picture than type up an actual post. Not saying I neglect the blog, just that I share a lot of 'firsts' on Instagram, Username: @BeautyInLagos.

I swatched all three shades separately, to give you an idea of what sort of colours you will be working with. But all three go beautifully together, adding colour as well as highlight to the cheeks.

MAC Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow Trio 'Warm Wash' - N6,000*

I absolutely LOVE this shadow trio! That gold colour in the middle is my favourite! I used this every single day since I got up until yesterday. It's sparkly, but it's the perfect 'daytime' sparkle. The one that's also 'office acceptable'. Only issue is the packaging, the shadow slots are very narrow so you would need to use a small brush to get the product out. Lucky for me, I had one of such brushes so it wasn't a problem. There is a bit of fallout with these, so I will advise you tap off the excess before you apply to your lids and also pat the product on, as opposed to 'wiping'. This will reduce the fallout.

Look at the sparkle in those swatches, especially the gold one in the middle!

MAC Cremesheen Glass 'Japanese Spring' - N5,500*
This gloss is very sheer, it's a pale pink tone that just adds some milky glossiness to the lips. It's best for layering over any nude lipsticks you may have in your collection. I personally love to layer it over MAC's 'Creme Cup'! It's a limited edition gloss that was repromoted as part of the 'Tropical Taboo Collection'.

MAC Amplified Crème Lipstick 'Diva-ish' - N5,500*
This lipstick is part of their Amplified range so the colour pops, and is very wearable as you will see in the swatch below.

That's all my goodies! Let me know if you will be picking up anything from the 'Wash & Dry' collection, you can tag me in on instagram or leave a comment under this post.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

MINI HAUL & REVIEW: M.A.C.

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are all well and a huge THANK YOU to everyone that wished me a Happy Birthday! Thanks for your wishes and God bless you all :).

This is a post about some MAC eyeshadows I recently acquired. So I have got a list of MAC products I want to get. If I am reading a blog, watching a Youtube video or just scrolling down instagram and I see a MAC product that sparks my interest, it goes down on the list. Said 'list' is located in the notes app on my phone and I am actually ashamed to admit the number of MAC products I want to get. I'd like to add at this juncture I actually keep two different makeup lists one for MAC and the 2nd for every other brand...... *I can hear your judgmental thoughts*

Funny Story: These products I didn't get to swatch because I had my boyfriend pick them up at duty-free on the way back from his last work trip. He always gets me MAC from duty-free, he messages me like "What do you need from MAC" and I just send him a list and he shows it to the SA at the counter, like hands over his phone and she picks out what they have and lets him know what they don't have. He's even called me once after showing my list to the SA,because I wanted the refills and apparently they don't sell them at duty-free and he didn't understand what she was saying, so he just called me and said "Please speak to my girlfriend" lol. Boys aye?

L-R: Brule, Expensive Pink & Cranberry

Anyways this trio of shadows were at the top of my list, which means they've been on there for a while. My list works in descending order with the oldest at the top and newest at the bottom. Yup there's a method to my madness, cheers.

Cranberry - frost finish
First up is the shade 'Cranberry'. A gorgeous frost finish shadow with speckles of pink glitter in it. I'd describe the colour as a berry-red.

It's a shade that I can use in different sections of the eye. As a lid colour, subtle transition colour and even on the outer 'v' of the lid. It's buttery-smooth as with most MAC shadows and the glitter in it is hardly visible once blended.

Expensive Pink - Veluxe Pearl finish
I have had my eye on this gorgeous rose-gold shadow for a while and I am slightly disappointed with how this comes up on my skin.  I'm pretty sure if I had swatched it at a MAC counter I won't have picked it up. I don't find it as flattering as I expected and it's a little difficult to blend. I'd describe it as a duo-chrome shade because, it's rose-gold but when you move your face around you can catch some pure-gold in it and its got a peachy undertone.

The issue I've got with it is a little difficult to describe, but it kind of just sits on my lids and just enhances all the imperfections, and when I try to apply a little more product it seems to make it worse. Maybe I'm not applying it properly, I'll probably try spraying some Fix+ on my brush then applying and see how that works. Not giving up on this one just yet!

Brule - Satin finish
This I LOVE! I have been using this as a highlight colour underneath my brows. With one swipe, it barely comes up on my skin, so to get the swatches below I had to be a little heavy-handed. But I love the fact that it's so sheer.

When you imagine the perfect highlight eyeshadow you think of a frost-finish, but this surprisingly is a satin (bordering on matte) and it works superb! I can't get enough of it. It gives me the perfect highlight I need. I also use it all over my lid when I want to work a light-nude look during the day. Zero complaints about this one.

I'm sure you noticed I had depotted two of my shadows already. I prefer them in palettes and when I move around I just transfer the ones I'd like to use into my quad or duo palettes. Hope you enjoyed this post.

What MAC shadows are on your 'to-get' list?
