House of Tara Precision Eyebrow Pen in 'Brown' - N1000

When I got this House of Tara Precision Eyebrow Pen* I was very worried, a felt tip pen to fill in my brows? Won't it be too harsh. But after I swatched it on my hand, my concerns melted away.

I have used this every single day since I took it out the box and that was about 2weeks ago. If you are familiar with lining your top-lid with liquid liners, this should be a dream to work with. You will definitely need a steady hand.

This liner is in the shade 'Brown' and as you can see it is the softest shade and not harsh at all. It may look, from the swatch, that it won't make a difference but trust me when I say it does. It also helps keep your brows in place once dried.

It offers me the precision I love! Have a look at my 'before and after' shots above. I really really love this product, so much so that my former love here has taken a back seat for now. E.L.F. Gel liner brush
I am always looking out for a new tool to apply my gel-liner. I'm pretty good with gel liner application, so a new brush to apply always excites me… I'm a loser I know

E.L.F. Angled Eyeliner Brush - N1000

I was browsing BeautyKink a couple weeks ago and I came across this oddly-shaped brush and I HAD to get it.

I am so glad I did. The bend at the top really aids in getting that 'flick' we love on the outer corner of the eye.

You do have to turn it this way and that as you work through different sections of your eye, depending on which eye lol.

For my right eye I like to work with the brush turned in, that's with the bend at an angle away from the eye. Then when I get to the 'flick' I lay it on it's side.

Then for my left eye (I know this isn't my left eye, but work with the kid), I work with the brush upside down and work with the same angle as the right eye for the flick.

I can't get enough of this brush and like most things, I love that I own more than one eyeliner brush, because it's always nice to have choices.


Love, Tims Signature Fragrance

You all know I cannot describe scents to save my life, but I really like the 'Love, Tims'* fragrance by I Do Weddings.


'I Do Weddings' is an indigenous weddings solutions company, which caters to all wedding related needs. Love, Tims is their bridal line that offers wedding dresses, reception dresses and their recently added self-titled fragrance. I have worn it quite a few times these past week and it's now part of my perfume rotation on my vanity.

It's just a nice light fragrance, not overbearing and all….. that's all I've got! But I DoWeddings describe its as having opening notes of bergamot and pink pepper. The heart of the fragrance is floral, the base note infuses vanilla musk and sandalwood

Maybelline 'BabyLips'

Now I am not sure how many people know that lip conditioners and lip balms are two different lip products. A balm usually has a  thicker consistency and contains some sort of menthol, which gives that 'cooling' sensation when applied and soothes chapped lips. A conditioner works the same way but has a more 'buttery' consistency and doesn't contain menthol, unless it is a flavour added in. I much rather prefer conditioners. I initially thought I preferred balms, but found my lips to prefer conditioners.

Maybelline's 'BabyLips'* are conditioners and I absolutely love them. I apply them right after I have moisturised my face and it stays on while I do the rest of my face so that by the time I get to working on my lips they are nice and moisturised providing the best base for my lip products.

I also reapply this throughout the day whenever I feel that I need it.

I have had the yellow one this since the Maybelline Launch party and it's permanently on my vanity and I was glad when I was given the pink one at the Maybelline Beau-Tee Party a few weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was slightly tinted, so it conditions as well as provides some colour for the lips. This goes everywhere with me in my MMM.

EBEANO SUPERMARKET - E.L.F. Stand & Giveaway Winners!

Hiya Guys! Hope you're all well and happy that it's FRIDAY!

The other day while browsing the beauty section at Ebeano (this is located on the 1st floor, stairs to this level are at the back of the store), I was surprised to see this:

An E.L.F. stand! I nearly walked past it because I wasn't really looking in that direction. It's placed right next to the Orly Nail stand. They've got quite few products on display: Lipgloss, bronzers, foundation, eyeshadow palette, eyeshadow pencils, liquid liners etc. Not nearly enough, but its a good start. I managed to pick up two items.

E.L.F. Eyelid Primer 'Champagne' - N900

Remember in my last E.L.F. Haul post, I picked up the eyelid primer but forgot to actually pay for it and take it with me. I was lucky enough to get it this time round :). And it was around the same price (even cheaper, I think)

E.L.F. Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Masacara - N1000

I have also been after something to set my eyebrows in place once I'm done filling them in. I had used some Sleek Makeup waterproof clear eyelash mascara for this, and it worked perfectly. But I haven't been able to go round and repurchase it. So when I saw this at the E.L.F. stand, I decided to pick it up to try out. On one side its got a wet gloss and the other side its got a clear mascara. I'm using the gloss for my brows.

Now, this isn't a review post as I have not used these products long enough to give one. I just wanted to let you guys know there's now an E.L.F. stand at Ebeano! But you can be sure I will provide a thorough and honest review once I've used these a couple weeks.

BROWNIES WORLD - E.L.F. Haul

Happy Valentine's Beauty-Lovers! :)

So I was catching up on the lovely Vieve's blog and noticed in a beauty-haul she had purchased Ben Nye powder from a store in Lagos called 'Brownies'. I immediately sent her a message on twitter asking for deets of the store and she gave me the address as well as directions. Thanks a lot Vieve :) xx

My main purpose for visiting the store was to get my hands on the now infamous Ben Nye 'Banana' Powder, unfortunately this wasn't available.

Ben Nye Luxury Powder 'Nutmeg'

This was all they had left from the brand (apologies for the poor picture quality) and it was too dark for my skintone, but the lovely salesgirl mentioned they were expecting new stock in and promised to  give me a call when they landed in-store.

But my frown was soon turned upside down when I looked around the shop, and noticed they had quite a lot of E.L.F products on display.

 I have been meaning to try-out products from this brand and had seen a few online retailers here in Lagos selling some of their products, but they had nothing I was interested in.

E.L.F which stands for Eye.Lips.Face is a very inexpensive makeup brand with products that are of very good quality. In the UK majority of their products range from 3.50-5.00 GBP.

I was very pleased that the mark-up on the items displayed in the store was not too high as is synonymous with nearly EVERY international makeup brand that is sold in Lagos. So annoying! I mean definitely include your costs when re-pricing your items, but sometimes these retailers take the piss.. Rant for another day.. Anyways...

After looking around here are the items I got

E.L.F. Mechanical Eyelash Curler - N1,000

The last time I used eyelash-curlers I was a teenager in my makeup experimentation stages, they were some pink plastic ones I got free in a magazine and weren't very good at all to be honest.

Been meaning to get the Shu Uemura ones, but when I saw these in the shop I decided to go for them because they are mechanical, just like Shu Uemura

It also came with an extra rubber insert for when the one already in place wears out.

I usually deep-clean my brushes every other week, using baby-oil to to take out all the makeup first and mild baby shampoo immediately after to wash. But most times, especially with my eyeshadow and liner brushes, I just want to do some on-the-spot cleaning between applications, these will be very handy.

It's got a pleasant smell and antibacterial which is an added bonus. I can see myself repurchasing these for sure!

I also picked up the E.L.F.  Eye-primer, but when I got home it was nowhere to be found. Guess I forgot to actually pay for it AND put it in my carrier bag *blonde*. I'll be visiting Brownies again, soon I'm sure, so I'll get it then.
